this deep purple glass is inspired by the purple layers found on a worn mussel shell is made to have a slightly reflective surface by a low oxygen flame.

molten glass is pressed into a uniquely hand-carved graphite mold to create the form of the mussel.

the flameworked glass is heated & formed directly on the stainless steel ear post & annealed in a kiln.
