the ridged dish - sunflower

the ridged dish is a small glass catch-all with softly ridged sides built up with layers of glass. 

inspired by the tall fall sunflowers that are now dried & bowing. 

the glass for the petals is custom made. colours are chosen, mixed & once molten, it is pulled into a long cane before each individual petal is worked in the flame.

once cooled, the pieces are assembled in the kiln to be fused & slumped into shape.
